Michael Porto

Place of Birth: Des moines, Iowa

Places lived in: Iowa / Massachusetts

Education: BS from Faith Baptist Bible College. Majored in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies.

Salvation Experience: I became a Christian in 2002 at 19 years of age. I hadn’t had any exposure to church outside of a brief period of time early in my life with my family. A friend of mine (my wife) began to share with me the truths of God’s Word during my senior year of high school (2001). I moved away for college that fall and it was then that God began to work on my heart. The following spring semester brought me back home where I began to attend church with a high school friend. I became a Christian in July, 2002. Following my conversion I began a one-to-one discipleship with my wife’s father that continued until I left for my second year of college. I then became involved in small groups and a college ministry at my college church home in Iowa City.

I’m Passionate About: God, Christ, Spirit, Camping, Hunting, Physical Activity, Pizza

Family Members: Wife - Libby, Daughter - Naomi

Favorite Books: The ESV Bible :), Desiring God, and good commentary.

Eric Hartlen

Founding Pastor

Thanks and appreciation to our founding Pastor Eric Hartlen and his wife Joan. Their many years of service are greatly appreciated and their impact on the lives of many at Heritage Bible Chapel is vast. We wish them well in their new ministry, Ezra New England, in serving Pastors, their wives, and churches in Northern New England.

what is a leader?

True leadership is achieved not by reducing men to one's service but in giving oneself in selfless service to them.

We are lead by a board of elders. They are:
